A stunning pair of vintage hand-painted Chinese blue and white porcelain imperial guardian lions (shishi), also known as foo dogs. You rarely see this size and coloring variation and with such amazing details and dimension. They both hold a ball in their mouth which signifies wealth and them protecting it. 

They are an incredible addition to any blue and white porcelain collection!

Because of their protective symbolism, foo dogs are traditionally placed to flank the entrance of the home or business and should be displayed in places where they are sure to be noticed. Place this pair on a console in the foyer, or make them a focal point of the living room atop the mantel.
