A lovely and rare set of vintage tea cup and saucer by Spode England in the Colonel Jade pattern.
The Colonel pattern was produced in several colors (red, blue, grey, dark green, jade, pink, purple, light blue and jade), all featuring an all over design of flowers, scalloped rims and an elegant gold trim. However, pieces from the Colonel Jade series are rather rare and hard to find, which makes these tea cup sets a really great find particularly given their prestige condition.
Set of one cup with matching saucer
Cup: 2”h x 4.5”w
Made in Staffordshire, England by Spode circa 1950-1960
In great vintage condition with normal wear; no chips or cracks
Spode pottery was founded by Josiah Spode in 1780. Spode’s formula for bone china, and the process for underglaze printing for earthenware (both breakthroughs in tableware history), made Spode china both longer lasting and beautifully suited for more intricate, artistic designs. Because of Spode’s early technical innovations and a continued commitment to excellence in design, the Spode name is synonymous with quality tableware worldwide.

Thank you for using vintage tableware and for supporting quality, sustainability, and beauty. With every piece of sustainable tableware you purchase you help minimize the impact on the environment and you live a socially conscious lifestyle.
Please remember that these antique & vintage market finds are anywhere from 20 to over 140 years old and have been loved and used by several generations before us so please expect signs of aging and wear, as well as slight imperfections such as minor scratches, stains and gilt disintegration, hairlines (superficial cracks), nicks (tiny bits of damage smaller than 1mm, as opposed to a chip which is something you can easily see with the eye and feel to the touch), firing specks or similar technical imperfections. I do my best to note the more significant imperfections such as actual cracks, rust, chips, etc.
