A lovely and rare set of vintage tea cup and saucer by Spode England in the Colonel Jade pattern.
The Colonel pattern was produced in several colors (red, blue, grey, dark green, jade, pink, purple, light blue and jade), all featuring an all over design of flowers, scalloped rims and an elegant gold trim. However, pieces from the Colonel Jade series are rather rare and hard to find, which makes these tea cup sets a really great find particularly given their prestige condition.

Spode pottery was founded by Josiah Spode in 1780. Spode’s formula for bone china, and the process for underglaze printing for earthenware (both breakthroughs in tableware history), made Spode china both longer lasting and beautifully suited for more intricate, artistic designs. Because of Spode’s early technical innovations and a continued commitment to excellence in design, the Spode name is synonymous with quality tableware worldwide.
