This decorative plate was made by JKW Bavaria in Western Germany sometime 1949 and it features a famous moment in the history of the hot air ballon: Globo de Lunardi 1875.

JKW stands for Josef Kuba Porcelain Factory and Decorating Shop who decorated in the Vienna Style. It was established in Carlsbad, Germany around 1930 and then re-established after World War II in Wiesau, Bavaria, Germany. The marks of JKW that include the words Western Germany were used after Germany was divided into East and West in late 1949.
