A really rare and beautiful find, this large chinoiserie melon jar is beautifully hand-decorated with pink and yellow lotus petals against the white porcelain background. The lid also features two delicate butterflies. 

The design is full of symbolism as in Chinese culture the lotus is the symbol of honesty, goodness, beauty and purity. It displays beautifully and the colors are really one-of-a-kind.
