Pair of Mid-Century French Louis XVI Style Creme Peinte & Gilt Twin Cane Beds

Beautiful pair of mid-century American-made French Provincial / Louis XVI twin beds finished in a distressed Creme Peinte (painted cream) lacquer and detailed with hand-applied gold leaf highlights that accentuate the neoclassical carvings. The high-arched headboards feature natural cane inserts, offering a textural contrast to the solid wood frames. Intricate floral bas-relief carvings adorn the footboards and side rails, supported by fluted legs and topped with classic pineapple finials.

These beds are quintessential examples of American-made French Provincial revival furniture. While there is no visible maker's mark, the specific combination of neoclassical fluting, floral carvings, and pineapple finials is highly characteristic of premium mid-20th-century American manufacturers.

• Excellent structural condition. The creme peinte finish shows a beautiful, age-appropriate patina with minor surface wear consistent with age and intentional distress. All cane is in great condition as well with one spot on each headboard that appears to have been professionally mended.
