An exquisite large mid-century porcelain cigar or cigarette ashtray perfectly capturing classical French elegance. Made by the renowned Porcelaine Limoges Castel in France exclusively for the luxury British retailer Chinacraft, this piece features a remarkably vibrant, hand-finished motif of colorful birds of paradise nestled among scrolling gold tendrils and delicate wildflowers.

The heavy, scalloped porcelain body is framed by a brilliantly thick, hand-applied gold gilded rim with three generous wells. Given Castel’s historic reputation for utilizing premium finishes, the rich, buttery sheen of the gold is indicative of high-karat gold leaf (typically 22K), which has preserved its impeccable luster beautifully over the decades.
