This exquisite pair of French side chairs, manufactured by Fournier Decoration Paris, captures the quintessential charm of 18th-century Neoclassical design. Crafted with a distressed, off-white painted finish and accented with subtle gold leafing, these chairs feature the iconic tapered, fluted legs and square-back silhouette synonymous with the Louis XVI period.
The chairs have been beautifully upholstered in a classic red and cream Toile de Jouy fabric. The pattern depicts traditional pastoral and mythological vignettes, framed by floral garlands and centered with an elegant medallion on the backrest. The upholstery is finished with a delicate cream gimp trim and decorative brass upholstery tacks.
Please note that due to their slender Neoclassical construction and age, the frames are delicate and possess a slight wobble. They are recommended for use as decorative accent pieces or light-duty occasional seating (such as in a bedroom or dressing area) rather than high-traffic dining use. They could probably be professionally reinforced.
