Navy With A Touch Of Gold

IMG_7285It's #humpday which means we're half way there! So hubby and I have been working on refurbishing this sad looking old side table we found a while ago at a thrift store and it's finally done. So excited to share the results with you on this post. First of all, you know that when I say hubby and I made this I really mean I supervized while hubby did all the work. he he he. Anyone else can relate to this work dynamic? JPEG_20150715_150537_1071634353Okay, so my first instict was to paint it a bright neon fuschia and turn it into a total chick accent table. But then I had the common sense to ask one of my girlfriends who has a really good sense of style - she recommended I use navy blue instead of pink. I instantly knew it was genius! This was right around 4th of July so while looking for inspiration all I was seeing was red, white and blue stripes. But I also wanted to add a little touch of French to it so I decided to drop the red and use gold. Gold and deep navy blue combo is so dreamy!

We also added wood molding around the the top to give it a little more structure and painted it a deep shade of gold. This table is now the perfect cocktail or accent table.

So overall I think it came out beautifully! I really really love this table. What do you think? If you like it you can find it in our store here.
