Sunburst mirrors are such a timeless design staple and they have been trending in the design world like crazy lately! The vintage giltwood sunburst mirrors sell for very high prices (and rightfully so given the artistry and history behind those pieces) but there are some great contemporary options that will bring the same glitzy flair to your walls at great prices.

These beautiful mirrors gained their biggest popularity during the Hollywood Regency period, (1920s-1950s), when it began to adorn the glamorous and glitzy homes of Hollywood's elite designed by such iconic figures as Billy Haines and Dorothy Draper. But they go back centuries with some speculating that it was Louis XIV of France, “The Sun King,” invented the sunburst mirror.
