Home And Garden Decorating


We all know that even the smallest change can make an enormous difference in home and garden decorating but many times we feel like we’re not that creative enough or crafty in order to create these beautiful vignettes we see in magazines or on TV. So let’s talk about it for a bit.

Home and garden decorating can involve absolutely anything, materials, paint, fabric, accessories; accent pieces that can be used to make decorative improvements to a home or garden. We really don’t need to be a professional designer to make home and garden decorating changes for ourselves. Really, simple, basic changes and additions can transform a space, either home or garden, into something completely different and beautiful and we can all do that.

For example, you could use corded ceiling or wall-mount fixtures to provide inexpensive lighting without hardwiring. These light fixtures are flexible, affordable, and don't require an electrician for installation. Just hang, plug into an outlet, and glow.

Or find an old or simply unfinished piece of furniture, like this pedestal table below, play around with several stain/seal products on the underside until you found the right hue. Then paint it and you'll have the table that you wanted!

Most of us prefer to decorate so that the home and garden compliment each other. When you have a beautiful garden, you should try to have that beauty brought into your living space. One easy way to do that this is to display, fresh-cut flowers from the garden, throughout your home. Flowers provide a lovely, fresh scent and add color to any space. When home and garden decorating, perhaps a homeowner might like to bring the country theme in their home, out into their garden. A patio could easily be decorated to portray country home decorating. This would allow people to enjoy the warmth and coziness of country decorating both inside and outside the home.

Tip: make several small, uncomplicated arrangements and place them all on a single tray on your coffee table. How gorgeous do these look?

You can find inspiration anywhere, from magazines to home stores or simply by walking around town, visiting neighborhoods and looking at other homes and gardens. You see a beautiful rose bush that you think would go well in your garden? Go for it, make it yours! The idea, that is, not your neighbor’s actual rose bush of course. HA!
