An authentic late 19th-century French barbotine (majolica) asparagus plate, sourced in Paris. Made by the Faïencerie d'Onnaing, the plate features high-relief molding of bundled asparagus stalks with purple and green tips, "tied" with a relief-molded ribbon, artichoke-leaf scroll edge and a scalloped shell-shaped sauce well. Reverse features an incised "T", characteristic of Onnaing mold-maker marks.
To preserve the vibrant glaze and delicate relief work of this 19th-century piece, we recommend the following:
Hand Wash Only: Never place antique majolica in a dishwasher. Use lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft sponge.
Avoid Soaking: Earthenware is porous; prolonged soaking can cause moisture to get under the glaze and darken the crazing.
Temperature Sensitive: Avoid extreme temperature changes (e.g., placing a cold plate in a hot oven) to prevent chips or "shivering" of the glaze.

★★★★★Glenda L.I was impressed with the beautiful quality of my hooked poinsettia throw pillows. They look stylish and lavish on my sofas . The service in getting them before Christmas was remarkable. I had tried another business but to no avail. I am a very happy customer of House of Andaloo.
