An early 20th century Italian bergere armchair with matching footstool in a French Louis XV (Rococo) style, made in Italy. The rich, dark wood frame features classic cabriole legs and extensive, detailed hand-carvings. Note the beautiful floral rosettes adorning the top of the legs and the graceful, scrolled armrests. The flowing curves and padded, generously sized cushions offer great comfort.

The fabric is a striking, high-quality stripe featuring a Fleur-de-Lis motif—the classic symbol of French royalty. The color palette—soft salmon/coral pink, sage green, and cream/gold—is still vibrant, giving the piece a chic, historical feel. Original Made in Italy sticker still remains.

This listing includes the matching paired footrest, which shares the same beautiful wood carving and matching period upholstery. Use them together for ultimate relaxation or style them separately to tie a room together.

  • Overall great condition. The wood is in excellent structural condition with a beautiful, rich patina and minor scuffs. The upholstery appears to be original and it is clean and intact but may show minor wear or slight fading typical of its age
