A 19th century antique oil on board Victorian landscape painting, also known as the Barbizon School or similar European pastoral movements from the 19th century. It depicts a serene river flowing through a lush, wooded area, with distant trees and a subtle, warm sky. The scene evokes a feeling of peacefulness and natural beauty. The painting is framed in an ornate, double-layered gilded wood frame with intricate carvings.

There is a signature on the right corner under the figural person, but it is hard to decipher. It is a classic example of a "plein air" (painted outdoors) or studio landscape in the style that was popular throughout Britain and continental Europe in the mid-to-late 19th century.

  • Framed: 13"L x 2.5"D x 10"H (12" to the top of the light)
  • Painting: approx. 7"L x 4"H
  • Painting is in excellent condition while the frame shows expected signs of age and wear consistent with its vintage nature but mainly on sides and not distracting. Light is in working condition and light bulb is included.
