Beautiful vintage 1970s Chinese Export porcelain plate hand-decorated in polychrome enamels with butterflies in what is knows as the Thousand Butterflies design. The border features a large number of smaller butterflies, beetles and grasshoppers against a gold mirrored background. Stunning!   

In Chinese culture butterflies symbolize immortality, and conjugal bliss, making these a great gift for a young or newly married or engaged couple. Very sweet!
