A stately and rare vintage silver-soldered food cloche (domed lid) and serving dish, crafted by Reed & Barton and featuring a striking scalloped/fluted body with a simple, elegant loop handle.

This item is genuine hotel silver and is permanently marked on the underside with "REED & BARTON SILVER SOLDERED 0162-H" and "HOTEL DESHLER". The Hotel Deshler was a significant luxury hotel in Columbus, Ohio, that hosted dignitaries like President Harry S. Truman. The Deshler Hotel opened in 1916 and changed its name to the Deshler-Wallick Hotel in 1925 so this cloche dates back to somewhere between 1916-1925.

Perfect for formal dining, a centerpiece display, or for stylish storage on a bar cart, console, or kitchen counter. Silver-Soldered is a heavy-duty, commercial-grade silver plating used for institutional/hotel pieces, making it very durable.
