A set of three hand-painted faience plates from France, featuring unique hot air balloon designs. Each plate is handmade ("fait main") and hand-decorated in Nevers, France. Voyage dans les Airs" (Journey in the Air) refers to the imagery of hot air balloons, which became a significant cultural phenomenon in France during the late 18th century following the pioneering flights of the Montgolfier brothers.

The plates have a glossy finish, scalloped edges, and a vibrant color palette. The background is not white but rather a very light blue.

  • Great vintage condition, a couple of chips on the rim but not distracting and common with old faience
