A French Neoclassical style vanity and chair set, featuring rich mahogany or walnut veneer accented with intricate giltwood (ormolu-style) carvings. This elegant three-piece vanity and matching chair are perfect for use as a luxurious dressing table, a small writing desk, or an exquisite accent piece.

Vanity is composed of a central writing surface flanked by two tall, narrow, four-drawer pedestals. The drawers showcase beautiful wood grain (possibly burled or figured veneer) and are finished with brass ring pulls and escutcheons. The frame and pedestal legs feature high-relief giltwood carvings, including classical motifs like acanthus leaves and decorative beading.

The matching chair features a graceful lyre back splat with complementary giltwood detailing and an elegant, curved silhouette. Newly reupholstered in a plush, pale powder blue velvet fabric, finished with a decorative silver-blue braid trim.

A high-quality early to mid-20th Century Revival piece, made in the highly desirable French Neoclassical / Directoire / French Empire style. No maker's marks were found.

  • Really great condition. The top surface of the vanity has been refinished, while the rest of the vanity is in great vintage condition, displaying a beautiful, preserved patina with only minor, age-appropriate blemishes. Chair is in great condition as well, structurally sound and new upholstery.
