Step back into the grandeur of the Roman Empire with this gorgeous vintage curule bench. The design is a modern revival of a classical form, inspired by the ancient Roman sella curulis (curule seat).

The X-shaped frame and gracefully curved legs are a direct nod to the ancient Roman curule seat and have an ebonized, lacquered finish, accented with gilded details on the arms and central stretcher. It stands on four lion paw feet, a motif used to symbolize power and status in ancient Roman art.

The seat has been re-upholstered in a clean, textured Greek key or fret white fabric to fit the Neoclassical style of the bench. Sturdy construction and high-quality.

  • Great condition and newly reupholstered. Normal wear to the wood frame such as minor scratches and scuff marks. Most vintage items fit this condition.
