fantastic American giltwood girandole mirror by Friedman Brothers from their Historic Williamsburg collection. This is a mid-20th century reproduction of the famous Girandole Looking Glass commissioned in 1810 in England and displayed in the Williamsburg Museum.
Handmade in true Regency fashion, the convex mirror is surrounded by an inner black frame and an outer gilded frame with a ring of gilded balls. Surmounted by a carved and large gilded eagle with outspread wings while the base is supported by carved foliate element with a two-arm electrified lights, crystal prisms and hanging giltwood tassels.
Mirror itself is 11.25" in diameter and in excellent condition. Also in working electrical condition.
This design is still being offered today by Friedman Brothers by custom order and can retail for well over $6,000.
